Abstract: In this (Swedish-language) analysis, the writer describes how the new Hungarian media law, having been amended in March 2011, compares with EU law; to what extent the law constitutes a threat to "free speech"; and to what extent it can be said to be in conflict with European standards regarding freedom of expression. The analysis was presented at the seminar "EU-rätten, Ungern och Pressfriheten". The analysis is part of the research project "The constitutional development of the European Union".
